Weber County 4-H Teen Council

2007-08 Officers

Any youth in 8th - 12th grades is invited to become a member of the Weber County 4-H Teen Council. New members can join at any time of the year.

This leadership group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Extension Office. Members plan 4-H Achievement Night, plan quarterly community service activites that involve members of all ages, and also develop leadership skills through monthly activities.

The group elects officers each year. Any youth may nominate themselves for an officer position by submitting the Teen Leadership Application to the 4-H Office by September 15. The officers are:

President - Presides during business meetings.
Vice President - Introduces and welcomes new members; presides in president's absence.
Secretary - Keeps minutes and attendance at meetings.
Reporter - Keeps members informed through the 4-H newsletter and website and takes photos at events.

Committees:

Each member will serve on one of the following committees, which will be chaired by one of the four elected officers. Committees meet during monthly Teen Council meetings.

· Leadership (Chaired by President): Plans and leads leadership programs including Winter Retreat and Officer’s Training.

· Community Service (Chaired by Vice President): Plans and leads quarterly community service projects, seeking to involve all club members.

· Activities (Chaired by Secretary): Plans and leads Teen Council social activities and countywide special events including Achievement Night and the Volunteer Recognition Banquet.

· Hospitality (Chaired by Reporter): Leads opening welcome and get acquainted activities at the beginning of each Teen Council meeting; makes new members feel welcome to Teen Council; serves as host/hostess during countywide events such as 4-H Achievement Night and Volunteer Recognition Banquet.
